Και τ' όνομά σου αθάνατο! 'And your immortal name'! is the way the poet in the second segment is invoking the Mother of European Cities, Athens. αθάνατο [a**θānat**o] 'im**mort**al' (whence the proper name Αθανάσιος [Athanāsios], turned in South-Slavonic into *Atanas* and reminiscent of Arabic خالد [Xālid] 'Immortal') comes from the same θάνατος 'death' root, upon which Francis Bacon in the early 17th century concocted his 'good-death' term: *euthanasia*.
