Paisyti, пойсаць

Lithuanian *nepaisant* means 'irrespective', a rendering faithfully reflecting the word morphology, including the root *pais-* 'to pay attention'. Since abstract concepts do not exist in human language, Belarusian *пойсаць* [pójsats'] 'to thresh' – a regionalism – comes in handy to reveal the original meaning of the borrowed Lithuanian word: 'to thresh'.
